Ms. So co-founded Malvern College Qingdao in 2012, bringing the best of UK boarding school education to China. She has served as the Executive Principal of the school, overseeing all aspects of the school’s operations and managing its public relations and communication. Her passion and cross-cultural understanding have been critical factors of the school’s rapid development and significant reputation in the region. Ms. So was the Vice President of Strategy and Development of Laureate Education, a leading education group that manages a portfolio of over 50 universities around the world. She was the founding member of Laureate’s Asian business, assisting the Chairman and CEO to evaluate the market demand, regulatory environment, and potential partners of various countries to formulate the Asia Expansion Strategy. Subsequently, she established partnerships with two Chinese private universities, and was then responsible for setting up the international program and streamlining the administration functions. She was also the Secretary of Board of Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University (one of the two JV universities in China), driving key initiatives across various departments of the university. Prior to joining Laureate, Ms. So worked at McKinsey & Company as project manager and senior consultant both in Greater China and the US, helping global multi-national companies formulate their market entry strategy, strategic planning, and merger and acquisition. She also worked at Goldman Sachs for Baidu’s IPO in NASDAQ in 2015.

Mr Allan Walker is the Commercial Director of Malvern College UK and Director of Malvern College International Schools. Mr Walker is responsible for the general commercial development of Malvern College, and in particular for overseeing the planning and development of Malvern College’s overseas campuses. He has been involved in this area of the school’s development since the founding of the College’s first overseas school, Malvern College Qingdao, in 2012, which was followed by the establishment of Malvern College Chengdu, in 2015. Prior to starting his career at Malvern in 2009, Mr Walker worked in various commercial positions at Harrow School (UK), and was latterly the Business Manager of Harrow School Enterprises Limited, the school’s commercial trading arm. Mr Walker holds a Master of Arts degree in Music from the University of Cambridge and is an alumnus of Harrow School. He is also a Governor of Welland Primary School, near Malvern.

Mr Vincent Yip is a Co-founding Executive Director of Malvern College Hong Kong and the Executive Vice-Principal of Malvern College Qingdao. Along with Ms Jacqueline So, Mr Yip established a partnership with Malvern College UK in 2011, and has since co-founded Malvern College Qingdao in 2012. As the Executive Vice-principal of the school, he oversees the school’s non-academic operations. Apart from his work in the education sector, Mr Yip is the CEO of The G2000 Group, a fashion distributor and retailer in Asia and the Middle East. Previously, Mr Yip was an Associate Partner of McKinsey & Company’s Greater China Office. He has significant experience working for governments and quasi-government organisations on issues including strategic planning, operations improvement, merger and acquisition, and stakeholder management. Mr Yip was educated in HK and the UK and received his Master of Engineering degree from Oxford.

Professor Lee graduated from the Department of Sociology at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Chung Chi College) in 1965. After obtaining his PhD from the University of Pittsburgh in 1968, he immediately returned to Hong Kong to teach sociology at his Alma Mater. He became Chair Professor of Sociology in 1984. Professor Lee became Founding Master of Wu Yee Sun College on 1 August 2011. During his long service as faculty member, he took on many administrative duties on top of teaching and research responsibilities at the university: he served variously as Director of the Social Research Centre, Dean of Social Science, Chairman of the Department of Sociology, Chairman of the Advisory Board of Continuing and Professional Studies, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Physical Education, Chairman of the Management Committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies. The highlight of his services, however, was his tenure as Head of Chung Chi College from 1994 to 2004, in which he contributed much not only to Chung Chi College, but to the overall development of the university’s college system. Professor Lee was a pioneer in medical and health sociology in Hong Kong, and led many surveys on social issues and medical problems in both Hong Kong and China. As an academic, his services to the community included advising government bodies as well as other community organizations including: the Central Policy Unit, the Social Welfare Advisory Committee, the Research Grants Council, the Advisory Committee on Social Work Training and Manpower Planning, the Council on Human Reproductive Technology, the Health Services Research Committee, the Police Education and Welfare Trust Management Committee, the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, the Society of Rehabilitation and Crime Prevention, the Release Under Supervision Board, the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund Council, and the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal Panel. In 1992, Professor Lee was appointed as Non-official Justice of the Peace, was made an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Queen Elizabeth II in 1997. He was conferred Honorary Fellowship by CUHK in 2010.
