Ms. So co-founded Malvern College Qingdao in 2012, bringing the best of UK boarding school education to China. She has served as the Executive Principal of the school, overseeing all aspects of the school’s operations and managing its public relations and communication. Her passion and cross-cultural understanding have been critical factors of the school’s rapid development and significant reputation in the region.
Ms. So was the Vice President of Strategy and Development of Laureate Education, a leading education group that manages a portfolio of over 50 universities around the world. She was the founding member of Laureate’s Asian business, assisting the Chairman and CEO to evaluate the market demand, regulatory environment, and potential partners of various countries to formulate the Asia Expansion Strategy. Subsequently, she established partnerships with two Chinese private universities, and was then responsible for setting up the international program and streamlining the administration functions. She was also the Secretary of Board of Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University (one of the two JV universities in China), driving key initiatives across various departments of the university.
Prior to joining Laureate, Ms. So worked at McKinsey & Company as project manager and senior consultant both in Greater China and the US, helping global multi-national companies formulate their market entry strategy, strategic planning, and merger and acquisition. She also worked at Goldman Sachs for Baidu’s IPO in NASDAQ in 2015.
