Angela Jean Donohue
Teacher of Art
MA Architecture UNL
BA (Hons) Architecture, UNL, PGCE Secondary Art Goldsmiths College, UCL
With teaching experience in both the Middle East and UK, Miss Donohue joins MCC from Qatar. She has experience of teaching across a range of ages, teaching AQA and Edexcel AS and A2 level, GCSE and from KS3 to KS2. She is also familiar with working in an environment where many students are second or third language speakers.
She is keen to make Art an accessible subject for all students and to develop enthusiasm and interest. She has run after school workshops, invited visiting artists to share their work and practice with students and arranged cultural and museum trips, as well as encouraging entry to competitions for young artists. This has resulted in many students winning a variety of prizes in local competitions in Qatar, with the most notable being an award from the MATHAF (Museum of Contemporary Art) in Doha and she is keen to develop these activities at MCC.
Loving to travel and enjoying the differences in cultures, she is keen to discover China and the contemporary art scene alongside the rich, cultural history of this Country. She strongly believes that learning should above all be fun, and makes this a priority of her teaching philosophy and practice.
