Chemistry teacher
PGCE-University of Nottingham
BSc in Applied Chemistry-Southwest University of Nationalities, China.

Miss Hu has been teaching KS3, IGCSE and A-level chemistry during the past 5 years. She dedicates herself in the field of International education, with ambition to help Chinese students overcome barriers from both knowledge and language aspects in the study of chemistry. Within classroom teaching she applies a student-centered approach to assist the needs of every single student to be cared for, and supported.
Miss Hu is good at guiding students to be self-motivated in chemistry learning and she encourages students to become interested by taking part in various science activities.
“Learning chemistry requires students to think criticality and make objective statements based on facts. Instead of feeding students with existing knowledge, I create a scaffold for students to find problems and think independently. When students criticize something and then spontaneously work for a solution, they are effectively learning. Finally, they will be internally motivated by achievements they have made, and willing to learn more.”
