The annual Arbor Day always rekindles our shared vision for a greener campus. This year, MCC marked this occasion with an Environmental Awareness Week from 11th to 13th March, featuring a series of impactful Arbor Day initiatives. Our school community united in practical sustainability efforts, collectively sowing seeds of hope to enhance campus biodiversity.
Preschool pupils participated in a “Sustainable Toy Revival” charity drive. Through creative upcycling of collected materials, these young environmentalists transformed pre-loved items into educational resources for underprivileged communities, naturally embedding values of resource conservation and compassionate sharing.
On the afternoon of 12th March, our Prep School hosted an innovative “Cycle of Sustainability” workshop in the boarding houses. Pupils demonstrated exceptional teamwork and ingenuity while engaging with environmental principles through hands-on experiential learning.
The Senior School’s Eco-Council (Co-Curricular Activity group) delivered English environmental seminars during weekly assemblies. Furthermore, during dedicated CCA sessions, pupils contributed to developing our campus orchard belt, physically planting saplings that symbolise our growing environmental commitment.
This year’s Environmental Week initiatives not only demonstrated MCC’s steadfast dedication to ecological stewardship, but more importantly cultivated environmental consciousness throughout our learning community. We anticipate these green initiatives will take root across our campus ecosystem, blossoming into lasting sustainable practices that will shape our collective future.
