New Study Partners Scheme

IN THIS SECTION

 May 5, 2017

Every student has their own strengths and weaknesses when it comes to studying, so it is important for teachers to encourage students to help each other and learn from each other’s strong points.

In February the Study Partners’ Scheme was rolled out at MCC and students were placed in study groups of 2 or 3. After the scheme had been running for two months our teachers were able to make a decision about which students should win the Best Team Leader, Active Learning and Best Improvement awards.

Before the scheme began the School Counsellor, Ms. Mary Tang, shared her experiences about similar study partner schemes and to introduce the MCC scheme in more detail.

On Monday 24th April we invited parents to attend meditation time with our students and teachers to share the Study Partner Scheme Award ceremony. The Headmaster, Mr Malcolm Phillips, and the Deputy Head Academic, Mr Gerrard Docherty were pleased to present these awards to the successful students.

Before the ceremony students were asked to design a badge for the team leaders. The winning design was created by Owen (L4). The successful Team Leaders now proudly wear these on their school blazers.

The purpose of the MCC Study Partners’ Scheme is to increase our students’ enjoyment when it comes to studying. Hopefully it will help them identify the subjects that they would like to study further in the future.
