In the many countries, the festival holiday season is a time for celebrating with friends and for family reunions. In towns and cities festive lights are switched on to mark the start of the festivities. In Chengdu this year there have been several tree lighting ceremonies already and the MCC choir was asked to perform at both Taikoo Li and Temple House Hotel.

On the evening of November 18th, twenty-two students made MCC’s first public performance in TaiKoo Li, where they sang four festive Christmas songs for the official lighting up of the ‘Love to give, Give to love’ TKL Christmas event. On Saturday the choir took part in the Temple House Hotel Christmas market and tree lighting event. This event had a snow machine, festive market stalls and a tree made of recycled, sustainable materials.

At both events the students sang beautifully and the audience appreciated their performances. Thank you to the parents and staff that supported our students at these events. It was an honour to be included in this tradition and the senior choir members practiced hard to perfect their performance.
